Tendaba is a small village on the south bank of the river about 165km from Banjul. Tendaba camp is located in the centre of the village and was originally established by a Swedish sea captain who regularly sailed up the river brining groups of visitors with him. Today it is Gambian owned and managed and provides simple but clean accommodation right on the banks of the river. The main attraction of the camp is how close it is to the Kiang West National Park.
