Wake Up With The Birds

A must for all bird watching enthusiasts, but also a wonderful morning for non-birdwatchers.

An early start before daybreak starts with a drive by minibus to Lamin where, after tea or coffee, you will set off in an African dug out canoe into the creeks for a totally different experience of the dawn and accompanying chorus. After approximately one hour of exploration it's back to Lamin Lodge to enjoy breakfast, catching a glimpse of some of the 200 different species of bird life familiar to the area. The trip finishes with a two kilometre stroll along the edge of the rice fields towards the vegetable gardens of the Lodge to further sample the delights of the Gambian aviary and general wildlife.

The transport arrives back at the hotel in plenty of time for lunch.

Binoculars and copies "Birds of The Gambia and Senegal" by Barlow, Wacher & Disley are available on loan (free of charge).
